How I Actually Make Stuff

My moods vary. So does what I make.

Most of the time music is what drives me. That could be Suno. That could be me recording silly voices, making vocal noises, or banging on pots and pans or whatever to make a groove. I upload it to Suno and play around with it.

Sometimes I focus heavily on lyrics. I'm decent at coming up with a chorus or a hook. Building around it is where I struggle. It's quite a feat, and it's easy to get stuck.

But that's the fun of it.

Then I have days when my heart is truly in it and the words just pour out of me.

I never know what I'm gonna get.

Some days the words just aren't there. So I play with visual art instead.

AI art has come a long way. It isn't all put in a prompt and go anymore. In a lot of places you can shape and draw your own art inside it now. That's what I like to do. I manipulate the art over and over until it says me. Then I edit it in Affinity or somewhere like that.

Not every day is a making day. In those moments, I tend to put on my headphones and fake it to make it. You gotta do what you gotta do.
